What is Marathon Direct Primary Care?

Marathon Direct Primary Care is a membership-based primary care clinic in San Antonio, TX. Members pay a monthly fee in exchange for unlimited direct access to their physician, comprehensive preventive care, advanced diagnostics including DEXA scans and VO2 max testing, nutrition coaching, and personalized fitness programs. We do not accept health insurance.

Does Marathon Direct Primary Care accept health insurance?

No. Marathon Direct Primary Care does not accept health insurance. Members pay a monthly membership fee which covers unlimited access to their physician and comprehensive primary care services. We recommend members carry a high-deductible catastrophic health plan for hospitalizations and specialty care.

Can I use HSA or FSA funds to pay for my membership?

Yes. Marathon Direct Primary Care accepts HSA and FSA funds. Starting January 1, 2026, the One Big Beautiful Bill allows individuals enrolled in HSA-eligible high-deductible health plans to use HSA funds up to $150/month for individuals or $300/month for families to pay DPC membership fees.

Who can become a member at Marathon Direct Primary Care?

Membership is currently available to individuals 18-64 years of age. Membership for ages 65 and older is currently full.
